1. Who we are

Painter Quotes is a website that publishes painting and decorating guides and links customers to a quotes partner. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

2. The information we collect

• Quote requests: we do not collect these. When you click a Get Free Quotes button you continue to our partner, MyJobQuote, and any details you enter there are handled under their own privacy policy.
• Painter registrations: business name, type of work, contact details and the areas you cover.
• Website usage: technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through essential cookies and – only if you agree – analytics and marketing cookies.
• Correspondence: anything you send us by email.

3. How we use your information

• To measure how many visitors click through to our quotes partner, so we can understand which pages are useful (only where you have accepted analytics cookies).
• To reply to your emails and deal with any questions or complaints (legitimate interests).
• To assess and communicate with painters and decorators who want to join our network (steps prior to entering a contract).
• To understand how the website is used and improve it, where you have accepted analytics cookies (consent).
• To comply with our legal obligations.

4. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal data. Our quotes partner, MyJobQuote, is an independent business and is responsible for how it uses any details you give it on its website.

We also use trusted service providers to run the website, process form submissions and send emails. They act on our instructions and may process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations. Our website partners may also set cookies if you accept them, as described in our cookie policy.

5. How long we keep it

We keep emails for up to 24 months, so we can deal with follow-up questions or complaints, and then delete them. Painter registration records are kept for as long as you are part of our network and for up to 24 months afterwards.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@painterquotes.co.uk.
